I can imaging an entire generation gazing at this in total bemusement, Mark! Excellent (partly for that reason) – I can feel the pencil entering the heart to tighten the spool.
You have reminded me of when I swapped a ‘ahem’ Status Quo cassette for something with another lad at school and I watched him, throughout the whole of the next lesson, do exactly what you have described. He was checking the tape for damage – luckily there was none – and you have sparked this memory. Thanks Chris! Regards Mark.
